Majorca is the biggest Spanish island and it is located in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. Majorca is a beautiful island that is drenched in sunshine all year round. It first gained popularity as a tourist destination sometime around 1950 and since then its popularity among tourists has never waned. Today, tourists from various parts of the globe still visit the island for their holidays. Some of the tourists loved their Majorca holidays so much that they have decided to stay in the island for good. Twelve percent of the total population of the island is composed of expats who were once tourists on the island but decided to relocate. This only goes to show how beautiful Majorca really is. There are 53 municipalities in Majorca so you will never run out of things to do or places to explore in the island. If you want to go shopping then you can choose from the many shops in the island. Of course the beach is the main attraction in the island so this is where you will be spending most of your holidays. The capital of Majorca is Palma and it is a very beautiful city with excellent architectural structures. You can spend the day exploring the city and taking photos of the beautiful buildings. Palma is located on the south west portion of the island of Majorca. The main attraction in the city is the Palma Cathedral. The huge cathedral looms over the city. It was built in 1601 and its design is Gothic style. It is amazing to see that the majestic cathedral is just a short distance away from the beach. From the beach, you can see the magnificent cathedral. Another place to visit in Majorca is Magaluf which is just beside Palma. Magaluf is one of the largest resorts in the Calvia municipality of the island. The resort is famous for its all-night partying at its many clubs and discos. It is a favorite destination for younger tourists who wish to have a fun summer vacation. The main Magaluf strip has five major clubs where you get to enjoy the best parties and all night dancing. Magaluf and location espagne also has two exciting water parks. You can also spend some time exploring the Black Lizard Island where you get to see the large populations of black lizards that reside there. This island is just 500 meters from the beach shore of Magaluf. You can even swim to the island if you are an excellent swimmer. You may also try any of the water sports that are available at the resort.
